It's that time of year - Halloween is coming. A google search said this about the upcoming holiday. "Halloween has its roots in the ancient, pre-Christian Celtic festival of Samhain, which was celebrated on the night of October 31. The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom and northern France, believed that the dead returned to earth on Samhain." I recall many years ago that as a child we went around the neighborhood trick or treating. Some memories never fade.....the house at the end of our block required each child to walk through a scary haunted house before arriving at the door for the possibility of a treat....not me, forget it - I didn't do that walk! One year I remember a couple of older children walking through the neighborhood - one was being held with chains, the other had the other end of the chains - we went the other way fast!
How many of you remember those days of trick or treating? What memories from your childhood do you remember?
As an adult, one of our neighbors would decorate their house with a lot of scary things - some of those things were motion activated. My first dog as an adult, Dolly, didn't want to go down that road after being spooked by those scary things.
It's all perspective - are you ready?
The ghosts are out there waiting....
