We just returned from several days up in Pine Mountain, Georgia. It was a nice getaway to see the autumn colors and enjoy some cooler weather. F. D. Roosevelt Park was beautiful at this time with a nice campground and several cabins available for rental. I highly recommend stopping by to visit this park or stay for a few days if you have the time as it has many trails, fishing in the lake and a pool available during the summer months. It's a very short drive from Callaway Gardens which has trails (bicycle and hiking), butterflies, and more. Our particular cabin was dog friendly for those that might be travelling with a canine family member (Jimbo seemed to love it, I'm sure your dog(s) will too!).
This is one of several posts that will share photos of our stay in this area so be sure to check back during the next few days as we add more photos that can be viewed in our Nature/Wildlife portfolio.
Just before sunset, the campgrounds located along the lake edge came to life with beautiful colors of red, orange and yellow.

The sunsets were not photographic during the first three days of our stay (two cloudy, one rainy day). On our last evening in the park, the sunset over the lake was a blaze of orange without a single cloud in the sky. The lake reflected the sunset on the still waters.
